According to a late 19th century pamphlet the cylinder steel escape wheel would have taken a highly skilled watch maker one day and a half to produce and another day to finish.
A scintillating feature if this watch is that it demonstrates a cylinder escapement of the highest quality and its unusually made of steel rather than typical brass which was commonly used in this period. Highly unusual original English bridge type balance clock. With a very very fine engraved back plate with a decorated and engraved balance cock and a silver Tompion regulator. The watch runs well C + or 2- 3 minutes per hour. The fire gilt movement looks just like the day it left the work shop. The glass is very high bull nose clean and clear. Both cases are well hallmarked London 1804. The size of the case with then watch is 43 m. And is in very good condition, with a very nice clean watchmakers paper so nice to have and rounds this fine watch off. The size of the outer silver case is 45 m.
